This single-family house was designed for a young family with three children aged 6, 4, and 2. It is located in Baden-Baden, in the wine-growing village of Neuweier, on the edge of the Black Forest.

The landscape views played a decisive role in the design: panoramic vistas over the vineyard-covered hills, the historic Yburg Castle, and the Rhine Valley stretching out toward the Vosges mountains.

Built on a plot of only 460 m², the house adopts a compact, elongated, and vertical volume, minimizing its footprint. This approach maximizes the outdoor garden area while optimizing sunlight exposure for both interior and exterior spaces.

The construction sits on a semi-buried basement, partially embedded into the sloping terrain. This level houses the garage, freeing up surface area for outdoor landscaping.

The building has very low energy consumption and meets the Effizienzhaus 55 standard. It is equipped with solar panels and an air-source heat pump with underfloor heating.

Inside, the spaces are finished with light-colored walls, enhancing the sense of openness and the diffusion of natural light. This is complemented by oak elements, built-in furniture, parquet flooring, and window sills, which add warmth, character, and a sense of high-quality craftsmanship.
